DON'T FORGET!!!
Friday, January 27th is a Professional Activity Day for our school staff. There will be no classes for students that day. When students return on the 30th, it will be Day 2 on the timetable cycle.
EAST MEETS WEST - SATURDAY, MARCH 3, 2012
Lincoln Avenue P.S. is very pleased to see the return of our EAST MEETS WEST event! It is a special event for both parents/caregivers and students. There will be food, a special guest speaker, seminars for parents and activities for students! It will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the school from 11:00 am to 2:30 p.m. A notice and a registration form will soon be sent home. We hope to see you there!
MAKE SURE YOUR STUDENTS HAVE AN EXTRA CHANGE OF CLOTHES
With the wet, snowy, muddy and sloppy weather here upon us, please ensure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack that they can change into in case of accidents.
SCHOOL CLOTHING
We have a limited number of t-shirts available for $15.00 if you would still like to purchase school clothing. They would make a great stocking stuffer or gift!
FUN FAIR - CHANGE OF DATE
The fun fair originally schedule for January 14th has been moved back to April 21, 2012. Stay tuned for further details.
REMINDER!!
Due to the fact that a number of our students have food allergies, we regret that we cannot hand out home-made baked products to our students (as delicious as they look). Please consider bringing in packaged products that are produced in a nut-free facility or fruit as an alternate choice. Thank you for understanding.
NED YO-YO's
Thanks to all of the students that purchased a yo yo based on the NED assembly. If you have a problem with the yo yo or any of the accessories, you can contact their customer service at 1-877-872-9696 ext 101 or email them at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Our next meeting is on February 6th, 6:30 p.m. in the school library. New members are always welcome!
WHAT IS A BOOMERANG LUNCH?
The Durham District School Board encourages our schools to reduce food and food-related waste by implementing a boomerang lunch program.
A boomerang lunch means any uneaten food and any waste material is returned home and not added to the school's waste collection. It is important that this waste and food packaging is taken home in a resealable container or bag so that lunch bags can be kept clean!
